Menopause & Hormones
Our Medical Specialties

Chronic fatigue, low muscle tone and lack of motivation can drive weight gain
from imbalanced hormones, we look at restoring them.

Hormones, whether male or female substantially effect weight stability and weight loss.  Hormones are chemical substances that act like messengers in the body.  Hormones are a substance produced to stimulate specific cells and tissues into action. Imbalanced hormones can cause chronic fatigue, low muscle tone, lack of motivation and can drive weight gain.  Ensuring hormones such as insulin, adiponectin, leptin, TSH and thyroid are in range is a key component to weight management.  Males and Females with imbalances in Estrogen and Testosterone have significant risk of weight gain or weight loss stalling.  At Adaptive Medical Weight Management our Elite Program includes a Premier Lab Panel that includes a deep dive of hormone levels to evaluate their impact on your weight journey.  Have you had difficulty with weight loss even with calorie counting and/or increased exercise?  Have you experienced weight stalling with diligent weight loss efforts?  Likely you have been experiencing the effects of imbalanced hormones in the background that are negatively impacting your weight loss. Hormone imbalance is common and often leads to chronic fatigue, elevated fasting insulin/prediabetes, loss of muscle mass and a lack of drive or motivation and mental focus.  These imbalances are much more common past the age of 30 but can occur even earlier in life for some people. Women that are perimenopausal or post menopause almost always experience some impact from hormone imbalance and often have post menopause abdominal/hip weight gain. Hormone assessment and replacement can resolve this issue.

Adaptive Medical Weight Management is experienced at assessing these levels, helping our patients to understand their personal lab results panel and formulating a plan of care to address these derangements.  A very detailed lab panel is obtained, a thorough analysis is shared with you and an agreed upon approach to treatment is developed.  If needed, referral to a specialist may be mutually agreed upon to manage hormone replacement with implanted pellets.  We will refer you to a specialist if this is the therapy for you.
